1. Plant Inspections & HUD Codes
Manufactured home factories are built to conform strictly to federal HUD codes under continuous in-plant quality audits. Once a section is completed, the plant attaches the red HUD certification label to the exterior chassis.
2. Shipping Logistics & Transport Costing
The location of the plant determines the transport costs and oversized-load routing required to haul the home to its final property site. Our map allows users to:
- View the geographical distribution of manufacturing plants in Texas.
- Estimate delivery zones and logistics fees using our calculators based on plant proximity.
- Verify manufacturer license numbers issued by the TDHCA.
3. Establishing the Title Chain
At delivery, the manufacturing plant issues the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO), which serves as the birth certificate of the home. This document is required to register the initial title with the state housing division.
